The most awaited 50 overs ODI cricket showdown, The Asia Cup is finally scheduled to be held jointly in Pakistan and Srilanka on a hybrid model between 17 August 2023 to 31 August 2023.
The 2023 Asia Cup will feature two groups, with two teams from each group will qualify for the Super Four stage and from super four stage two finalist teams will play finals to decide the Asian Champion.

NEPAL’S DEBUT IN ASIA CUP 2023
Nepal’s debut in this year’s Asia Cup is a historic event for the Himalayan country. They have qualified for this tournament after winning ACC Men’s Premier Cup. In the finals, Nepal defeated UAE by seven wickets engineered by Gulshan Kumar Jha’s balanced innings of 67 runs in 84 balls.

The Cricket Association of Nepal has not announced its squad. But there are speculations that Nepal will not change their winning combination and will send the same team which got them qualified for Asia Cup.
SRI LANKA SQUAD
Sri Lanka Cricket has not announced its squad. The announcement is expected after the home series against Pakistan.

HISTORY OF ASIA CUP
The Asia Cup Cricket tournament was established in 1983 when the ACC Asian Cricket Council was set up as an innovative measure to promote goodwill between Asian countries. It’s a men’s One Day International (50 overs) and Twenty20 International cricket (20 overs) format tournament which was originally scheduled to be held every two years.
Team India is the most successful team having won the tournament seven times. The second-best is team Sri Lanka winning it five times and in third place is Pakistan who won twice. Bangladesh reached the finals thrice but has not managed to lift the trophy yet.
